Silly Yellow Mood

Morning folks! It's another outfit post. Let's get on with it, eh?

My mood fluctuates pretty darn often, and I find myself chopping and changing outfits with the drop of a literal hat (which I chose not to wear for this outfit post). I feel these changes are thanks to a love of experimentation in my style, and a degree of antsyness, which I cannot seem to escape. As the Caterpillar said, 'I cannot tell what I will be from one minute to the next!' - this quote definitely rings true with my outfits.

Ultimately, the outfit has to feel right. Colour often is the crux of representing my mood, particularly colour blocking. This outfit from yesterday displayed my 'silly yellow mood:' a mood which rears its heads on my most positive days. Yellow is a vibrant, 'I'm here!' colour and sometimes I am a vibrant, 'I'm here' person! (Though sometimes I'm the tiniest, quietest wallflower you'll ever meet.) It's just the best colour on the spectrum and why not, eh?

The dinosaur motif adds an extra splash of silliness, which Ruby (my little dog who will not stop barking when my dad and I try to take outfit pics) also helps with. The socks, which are not yellow unfortunately, break up the outfit, and the docs are, well, essential to any good outfit, in my opinion.

In case you were wondering, my glasses are medically necessary in my life and despite their appearance, are not sunglasses. The frames are Ralph Lauren.

Not-Dinner-Party-Appropriate: anecdotes from the mental hospital

I feel like a time traveller. I've awoken in 2021, sleeping through a pandemic and my teenage years, now in my mid-twenties. I have no dinner-party-appropriate anecdotes. It's cold. I'm always so cold. My hands quiver blue and wrists bloom purple, after days of bang, bang, banging my wrist on the arm of my chair. Hi folks, another more serious post here (I promise there'll be a fun one very soon), as it's just come to my attention that it's mental health awareness week and that's a topic that deserves to be covered. This post might a little off-the-cuff as I've not planned or really thought it out, but here we go. Are you ready? Schizophrenia. Most people hear that word and shudder. They might think of serial killers (admittedly, some do have the illness), violent outbursts, mental asylums, or just utterly unmanageable people. You might even be thinking (if you have no awareness of what schizophrenia is) that a person with the illness might have multiple personalities. This is not the case and I am living proof.
